Established in 2015, DMX projects has been delivering the best in commercial and retail fit outs, as well as custom carpentry in Singapore. Taking utmost pride in the quality of their work, they are able to provide top-quality workmanship in their design and product deliverances. Having their own workshop and factory, where everything is created in-house, also ensures cost effectiveness and efficiency in their project completions.

With years of experience, DMX Projects closely consults with their clients and guides the design process from the budget and resources planning to the design development and even after sales process. Some of their notable clients include TANGS and Aston Martin.

1) T4 Arrival

What was the inspiration behind the design/what was the clients’ brief to you, and what were some challenges faced when designing and building these spaces?

This is the Shilla Boutique at Singapore’s Terminal 4 Arrival. We worked around and adapted with the guidelines given by the client emphasizing the concept of a luxurious feel. The main challenge we faced was with the Point Of Sale terminal that we had to place around the round pillar in the boutique.

What are some of the special/striking features of the space that you built?

Although challenging, we turned it to an opportunity and used the pillar to our advantage by drawing attention to it with a tiered false ceiling and dressing up the pillar.

2) Tissot MBS

What was the inspiration behind the design/what was the clients’ brief to you, and what were some challenges faced when designing and building these spaces?

This is the Tissot Boutique at Marina Bay Sands. The client wanted a striking look with this boutique and we worked around their brand’s guidelines to come up with a modern yet sophisticated concept. The challenge we faced was with the vault to display and keep the watches. It was of an irregular shape and specially engraved with the client’s brand logo. This vault is extremely heavy and had to be inserted securely into a groove along the wall.

What are some of the special/striking features of the space that you built?

To achieve the striking effect, the walls are installed with glass and spray painted. The majestic vault was also the main feature of the boutique giving the whole boutique a classy and sophisticated look.

3) Piaget Event

What was the inspiration behind the design/what was the clients’ brief to you, and what were some challenges faced when designing and building these spaces?

Piaget Event at Takashimaya Atrium was set up with the client’s luxurious branding in mind. Among our expertise is designing and setting up events and roadshows. We take utmost pride in showcasing our clients’ branding concept and their merchandise during events and roadshows as we know it is a time sensitive duration to best attract and present their brand to shoppers.

The challenge with events and roadshows is always about striking a balance with presenting the brand’s concept and having innovative showcasing to bring out the best in a short showcase duration.

With the current situation around the world, DMX projects have had to shift their mindsets in the ways they designed and built spaces for their clients. To stay in line with the various safety distancing measures, it was essential for them to focus on how people will move in offices or retail units. “We have been more mindful with the design to ensure wider communal spaces for retail units and further seating arrangements for office units.”
